Well I have to say, this is pretty damn awesome! Well I have to say, this is pretty damn awesome!

I entered my first @crossfitgames open this year purely for the experience. I had no idea I would have made it this far. 

I ended up doing every workout twice. Each time I pushed my myself harder and I improved. 

It definitely beat me up but I’m beyond stoked that I made it to the quarterfinals. 

Here’s my scores:

21.1: 38,531st (316 reps)
21.2: 13,710th (14:34)
21.3: 19,199th (158 reps)
21.4: 2,260th (268 lbs)

Out the 137,480 worldwide males that entered the open - I came in at 13,309th place 

They take the top 10% of each region. In the USA, the top 7,410 made the cut. I came in at 6,761st place. 

They are announcing the workouts for the quarterfinals this Thursday. I believe there is 5 different workouts to be completed over the weekend.

As you can see.. I’ve been spending a lot more time working in the CrossFit gym opposed to skateboarding. I miss skating a lot but CrossFit really got a hold of me.

21.2 ✅ I did this workout twice during 21.2. M 21.2 ✅ 

I did this workout twice during 21.2. My first time I wasn’t very stoked on my time. I thought I was moving fast but after reviewing my video I knew I could be faster. 

1st Time: 16:32 (3rd Video)

2nd Time: 14:34 (1st & 2nd Video)

➡️ I was about 2 minutes faster. I made my transitions quick. I took minimal rest and l pushed through the pain better this time. 

I’m stoked as this score here will rank me higher on the leaderboard for my first ever @crossfitgames open! 

I’m patiently waiting for 21.3. Let’s see what it is! 👀

Murph is the workout that pretty much started this whole CrossFit journey for me. 

It’s a pretty tough introductory workout if you ask me. 

Murph slapped me around and I didn’t like it. 

It did make me want to improve my fitness more to achieve a better time. 

My bro @athlete4lifeyt is the one who introduced me to Murph. Thanks Mike 😂

I did Murph 5x last year. 

Why? I don’t know 🤣

My best time with the 20lbs best was 43:22. 

This year I have the goal to break into the 30’s.

Sunday’s are rest days. After a long week of har Sunday’s are rest days. After a long week of hard training, it is much needed. I’m still thinking about working out tho. 

I am looking forward to squats this week. The squat is one of the best lifts to improve your overall total body strength. 

Every muscle in your body is activated when performing the squat properly. If you aren’t squatting - you are missing out.

Life is too short to spend it not being happy. Yea Life is too short to spend it not being happy. Years ago I went through a lot and I wasn’t happy at all. I overcame my struggles and shifted my focus. 

I’m currently the happiest I’ve ever been in my life. I’ve learned how to see positive in every situation no matter what. Life is full of learning experiences. How you accept them makes a big impact on your mood, attitude, and overall well being. 

Life is pretty damn amazing. I hope everyone has a great weekend!

Gymnastics & Conditioning Today we had 2 quick b Gymnastics & Conditioning 

Today we had 2 quick but effective workouts. The first one was:

EMOM for 5 Rounds 
(Every Minute On The Minute)

4 Bar Muscle Ups 

My muscle ups are feeling smoother and smoother, the more I do them. This workout was to focus on technique and build some muscular endurance with the movement. We did 5 total rounds. 

- Then rest 5 minutes -

Workout 2:

Every 3 Minutes for 3 Rounds 

15cal on the Bike
8 Ring Dips
 (It was optional to scale up the workout and do a ring muscle up into the dips. I chose that.)

Overall both workouts were quick but they were fun. 🙌🏻 @crossfitbradenton

2014 ➡️ 2021 In 2014 I thought aesthetics was 2014 ➡️ 2021

In 2014 I thought aesthetics was everything and being lean was the most important thing. I didn’t care about strength at all. My focus was to have a 6 pack and be lean. 

Since 2014, I learned a lot over the years. I realized you can gain strength and size while staying on the leaner end. The metabolism operates in both ways. 

When you restrict calories and diet, the metabolism adapts. When you are in a gaining phase and increase calories, the metabolism adapts. 

Back in 2014, I was stuck holding my calories consist at a specific intake. It kept me lean, but it was never enough to progress in my training or gain muscle. 

2015 was when I really learned how to dial in my nutrition(caloric balance) and how to build strength and size. It was a fun journey focusing on getting stronger each week opposed to just looking the same with no progress. 

Now that I joined CrossFit - staying lean just happens naturally since the metabolic demands are through the roof. It’s been really fun training to perform and be challenged in a way like no other. 

I’m excited to see what the next decade of fitness brings. Let’s go! #transformationtuesday #crossfit #motivation
