I really didn’t have the drive to train today. B I really didn’t have the drive to train today. But, guess what? 

I got up and got moving. We all have these little battles in our minds and sometimes they go like this:

Should I go workout? 🤔 

Nah, I’m too tired. 🥱 

But what if I just do some cardio? 🚴 

Well, I worked out hard yesterday so I don’t have to go today. 🙄

The gym will probably be so busy. 🤹🏼

I’m feeling too sore today. 😆

And the list goes on…. 📖

I had the battle of not wanting to workout today. 

What did I do? 

I put on some good music and got moving. 

It’s so easy to get stuck in your mind and not end up doing anything at all. 🧠 

If you stop thinking, and just start doing - the result will leave you happy that you did.

Hence why I’m smiling here. I won the battle and crushed this workout today.

This is where my physique currently sits while consuming 4,000 calories everyday. 

For a long time I trained to look a certain way - rather than to perform a certain way. 

CrossFit has really changed my perspective of what fitness really is. 

My current goal is to perform my best in my training. 

Be stronger. 

Be faster. 

Be efficient. 

The CrossFit Games Quarterfinals start on Saturday. 

I’m beyond stoked to give it everything I got.

📣 Post Workout Nutrition 📣 I get asked ofte 📣 Post Workout Nutrition 📣

I get asked often about what I eat after my workouts. 

First off, let’s talk about what is happening during training. 

During training, you are breaking down your muscles - creating micro trauma tears. 

Glycogen, which is store in the muscles becomes depleted.

Cortisol rises due to the stress of the training. 

So what do I do post training? 🤔

Post training, I take the Post Workout Stack by @1stphorm. 

This includes a fast digesting protein and a fast digestion carbohydrate. 

The protein I use is Vegan Power Pro. 🌱 

It’s plant based and includes a superfood complex and digestive enzymes. 

It’s dairy free, non gmo, gluten free, soy free, and no artificial flavors, colors, or dyes. 

The carbohydrate I use is called Ignition. 

Ignition is a rapid digesting carbohydrate in the form of glucose. It also has tons of vitamins and minerals too. 

Taking the Post Workout Stack after training spikes your insulin. 

This is a good thing after your workout because Insulin blunts the cortisol response from training and kickstarts the recovery process. 

Insulin drives the nutrients to the muscle cells. 

The amino acids in the protein are the building blocks to repair the muscle damage. 

The carbohydrates restore the depleted muscle glycogen. 

This is what I take post training to recovery optimally from my training. 

Then about 1 hour later, I will have a whole food meal consisting of a meat source, veggie, and starch. 

And that’s it.

It was the first time I ever got to actually see the “knot” tied.

What is fitness? 🤔 I used to think fitness wa What is fitness? 🤔 

I used to think fitness was all about how you look. 

I used to think all that mattered was to be shredded year round. 

I used to think walking was the only cardio I needed. (For the extra calorie burn to stay lean.)

I have learned a great deal over the years. 📝 

Starting CrossFit has changed my entire perspective on what true fitness is. 

CrossFit has taught me a lot. 

It has revealed the many holes I had in my fitness. 

I couldn’t barely run a mile without feeling like I was dying. 

I’d have to say I’m currently in the best shape of my life. 

Physically and mentally. 🧠 

It’s been such a fun journey thus far. 

My training consists of CrossFit a few times per week, strength and hypertrophy sessions, and Olympic Weightlifting. 

I’m stoked to keep it going and strive to be the best I possibly can be.

Wow, what a weekend! 🥳 I competed at the Howar Wow, what a weekend! 🥳

I competed at the Howard Cohen Master Nationals with @teamflgulfcoast!

This was my first National weightlifting meet. We traveled all the way to Reno for it. 

I went 6 for 6 lifts and hit 2 PR’s

Snatch - 104kg/228.8lbs

Clean & Jerk - 137kg/301.4lbs

I definitely had more in the tank but I’m super happy with hitting 6 for 6. 🙌🏼

Congrats to my bro @crossfit_blake for hitting a PR on his C&J! 133kg 👊🏼😎

We both definitely learned a lot at this meet. We got plans and our work cut out for us! 📝

A big thank you to coach @jordie2795 for making all this possible! It’s been a fun ride and it’s only the beginning! Thank you coach! 🙏🏼

My Top 5 to make my day the best it can be. 1️ My Top 5 to make my day the best it can be. 

1️⃣ Meditation 🧘🏻‍♂️ it’s amazing to have control over your thoughts. Every day, we process so much information with our mind and it can be a lot sometimes. Try meditating for at least 5-10 minutes daily and work your way up to longer if needed. 

2️⃣ Ice Baths 🧊🛀 they are amazing for managing stress and controlling the mind. It actives the parasympathetic nervous system. The increase in parasympathetic activity has positive effects on all kinds of conditions such as anxiety, depression, and gut problems. Your gut is your second brain. 🧠 Think about that one. 💡 

3️⃣ Nutrition 🍎 has a huge impact of how you feel. Making poor food choices can make you feel poor. Making good food choices can make you feel good. Simple right? It kinda is. Think fruits, veggies, quality protein sources, and some starch if you are training intensely. 

4️⃣ Sleep 🛌 is the number one hormone optimizer. It’s amazing what quality sleep can do for the quality of life. Try to get at least 7-9hrs nightly. More sleep promotes more fat loss and better recovery. Sleep more. 💤 

5️⃣ Workout 🏋🏻‍♂️ Working out always makes me feel good. If you have your nutrition and sleep in check, you should be recovering well and looking forward to your workouts. Hitting PR’s, gaining muscle, dropping body fat, or even just to feel good and confident - a good training plan is important to have. (Link in bio if coaching is needed)
